"Motif No. 1, Rockport"

Motif No. 1 is a gorgeous red fishing shack located in Rockport, Massachusetts. It's fun to park (good luck) and walk around to see the artists and shops on Bearskin Neck. Motif is on Bradley Wharf, next door, and there are a couple of spots to take pictures. The colors seem a little bright in the photos, but they are very natural in real life.

My grandparents had a large painting of Motif #1 in their dining room for many years. It was done by my grandfather's uncle, who picked up painting later in life. When I moved to Boston for grad school, I hunted high and low for the original scene so I could try to match the angle. It's the only Massachusetts painting I did in Boston. I've subsequently painted it 4 times. People just love this building. I think it's the red, myself.
