"Mark Island Light"

Winter Harbor, Maine

Painting of Mark Island Light in Winter Harbor, Maine by Beth Whitney | DowneastWatercolors.com

"Mark Island Light" is an original watercolor painting by Beth Whitney. This painting features the Winter Harbor Lighthouse in Frenchman's Bay (across from Mount Desert Island).

The Mark Island Light is visible from Grindstone Neck, Schoodic Mountain, the Loop Road in the Schoodic portion of Acadia National Park, and from various places on MDI.

This particular view is from a boat (thanks Dad!), but you could get the shot shot from Schoodic with a great lens.  You can also get a really cool view from up on Schoodic Mountain, looking down over the bay to Acadia.

The original painting has sold, but open edition giclee prints are also available of this painting. It measures 20x28", so you can order prints up to that size (contact me for more info).
