"Burnt Island Lighthouse"
Boothbay Harbor, Maine
"Burnt Island Lighthouse" is an original Maine watercolor painting by Beth Whitney.
The popular lighthouse is located in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. It's best viewed by boat, but you can catch glimpses from Spruce Point (bring your binoculars or telephoto lens!). Tours will stop at the lighthouse so you can explore the grounds. It's so distinct because of the red glass on the tower.
While you're in the area, check out the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden. It's a beautiful place with trails along the water, in the woods, and of course, sensational gardens.
You can see more original paintings of lighthouses in my Lighthouse Paintings Gallery.

This painting includes a double white Crescent Select archival mat and FoamCor backing board.
I offer natural hardwood and contemporary silver metal frames. Both are minimal and look beautiful with watercolors. I may have other mat/frame options available. Frames include conservation grade, non-glare, UV Acrylite glazing. This is lightweight, doesn't break easily, and adds protection from the sun's harmful rays.
Purchasing a matted painting enables you to be creative with choosing a frame to match your personal decor/taste. Buy the frame, wash the glass, add the art, attach wire, and you're ready to display or gift. It's really not difficult. Framed paintings are ready to hang upon receipt.
Whether you choose to buy your painting with or without a frame really depends how involved you want to be in the process. Either way, I'm happy to answer any questions and offer advice.
