"Motif No. 1 Reflections"
"Motif No 1 Reflections" is an original Maine watercolor painting by Beth Whitney.
The famous red fishing shack is situated right in the heart of Rockport, Massachusetts. This view shows a final sailboat heading out for a day sail. the open harbor with breakwaters. is looking straight out as a sailboat heads out to enjoy the beautiful day. I like the glassy water and the peaceful feeling it invokes.
Located downtown on Bradley Wharf, next to Bearskin Neck, Motif No 1 is reputed to be the most painted building in the world. I've painted it 4 or 5 times myself. My Great Uncle Joe painted the original building in the 1960s.
Open edition giclee prints are also available of this painting in my Downeast Watercolors shop on Etsy.
My Seascapes Gallery has more coastal paintings of Acadia National Park and other seaside locations.

Image: 8x12" | Mat & frame: 12x16"
This original watercolor painting includes a classic double white archival mat and backing board. It's ready to slip into a standard 12x16" frame.
I am also happy to finish it for you in a contemporary silver metal frame with conservation grade non-glare, UV glazing. The silver compliments the soothing ocean tones beautifully. Check with me for other frame options.
Purchasing the painting framed is a nice option if you're sending the painting to someone as a gift. Buying a matted painting is also wonderful because the recipient can choose the frame that suits their taste.
