"Sumac in the Sun"
"Sumac in the Sun" is an original watercolor painting by Beth Whitney featuring an island cabin in the sunshine.
Sailing near Boothbay Harbor, this seemingly forgotten little house sits nestled amidst a stand of sumac in the sun. Just look at the backlighting coming through the trees and sumac! The sparkly water was fun to paint. There's a glow on the water and coming up through the shallow water. I love this painting. It took me a long while to figure out how to paint it.
My Seascapes Gallery has more vibrant paintings of coastal Maine ocean scenes.
