Coastal Maine Botanical Garden
"Woodland Waterfall" is an original watercolor painting by local Maine artist Beth Whitney.
This spectacular waterfall is located at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, Maine. I visit as often as possible, sometimes once a week from spring to fall. If you haven't been, you must go. It's delightful.
This refreshing and unexpected find on the eastern edge of the Giles Rhododendron Hillside is full of mountain laurel, rhododendron, iris, dogwood trees, and always wonderful hardscaping, and ferns. It's set up almost like an amphitheater with the hillside facing the waterfall.
The pond has thousands of frogs and there are large rocks for frog-peepers to perch on for a closer look. There's also a shuttle stop behind the waterfall, so if you want to finish here, you can get a ride back to the visitor center.
My Landscapes Gallery has more scenic Maine landscape paintings.
Watercolor on paper | $450 matted
Image: 10x14" | Size matted: 16x20"
This original watercolor painting includes a classic double white archival mat and backing board in a crystal clear protective closure sleeve. It's ready to slip into a standard 16x20" frame (not included).
The pictures below will help you visualize the matted painting and give you ideas for choosing a frame. I recommend taking it with you when you go frame shopping so you can test drive several profiles and find one that speaks to you. I think it would look great with a warm wood or muted gold frame, displayed in a living room.
