"Marshall Point Lighthouse"

Port Clyde, Maine

watercolor painting of roses and hydrangeas and Marshall Point Lighthouse with ocean beyond

"Marshall Point Lighthouse" is an original Maine watercolor painting by Beth Whitney.

Roses and pinky white hydrangeas frame this view of Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde, Maine. For the reference photo, I leaned in right beside the keeper's house (I may even have been touching it). This also makes the foundation garden planting look more lush than perhaps it appears from out on the lawn. This took me several weeks to paint and I'm very happy with how it turned out.  The hydrangea blossoms were the easiest part of the entire painting.

My Lighthouses Gallery has more paintings of lighthouses from up and down the coast of Maine.

This unmatted watercolor painting is ready for you to take to your favorite framing gallery to finish.  I think it would look amazing with a double white mat and black frame.

Prints are available in 5 sizes.  Contact me for more information or purchase through my Etsy shop.
