"Seaside Still Life"

Orr's Island, Maine

Scallop shell, red flowers, rocks, and blue ocean shore.

"Seaside Still Life" is an original Maine watercolor painting by Beth Whitney.

A scallop shell and reddish plantago flowers form a lovely still life on the rocks at the water's edge on Orr's Island. The blues play off the crisp white, sun-bleached rocks with just a hint of yellow lichen. Gorgeous! Notice the submerged rocks and seaweed just under the water.

This beautiful scene is along the shore of the Bowdoin College Schiller Coastal Studies Center on Harpswell. You can see the spot from the bridge if you know where to look. This is one of my favorite hikes in Harpswell. It's definitely off the beaten path, which makes it even more special.

This seascape art print would make a wonderful memento of a summer vacation in Maine. It would add so much color and sunshine to any room.

My Seascapes Gallery has more dynamic watercolor paintings of Acadia National Park and other coastal locations.
