As the creator, the artist [Beth Whitney] retains the copyright for all works of art, and this is not transferred at the point of sale. Physical paintings and prints, and images from this website may not be copied/scanned, printed, or reproduced in any way.

For example, when you buy a painting, you can't photograph or scan it to make prints or cards.  However, I can do this for you, so let me know.

When sharing images on social media, please include my name, "Beth Whitney," and link back to this website.

Logos, styling, language, web design are all part of the Downeast Watercolors brand.  Please do not copy the content without my permission.

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services on https://DowneastWatercolors.com.

The short version is that I take my collectors' privacy very seriously and treat their information as I would like mine handled.  I will never share your name, email, or any other personally identifiable information with any third party.

1. Information I Collect

1.1 Customer data

To fulfill your order, you must provide me with certain information, such as your name, email address, postal address, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (e.g., why you are purchasing a particular painting, the identity of the recipient, etc.).

1.2 Payment information

Electronic payments are handled through PayPal.com, and I do not have access to this information at all.

1.3 Website visitor tracking

Like most websites, this website uses Google Analytics. This tool collects information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the site, where visitors have come to the site from and the pages they visited. We use this information to better understand how visitors find the site and how they interact with it. I can use this to make adjustments to my website, to deliver a better user experience.

2. How I Use the Information

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

I provide the USPS or other third party delivery companies with your name and delivery address in order to ship your order.

However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for 38 months.

This site uses Google Analytics, which provides me with information about how visitors use the site and ways that I can improve their experience. I am committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, I have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Though I have these procedures in place, I can’t be held responsible for any intercepted information shared through my site without our knowledge or permission.
